Sufi festival takes place in Nagaur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The city of Nagaur has a long history, dating back to 4th century BC. It was an important trade point since it lies at the edge of the Thar Desert. Nagaur was also an ancient site of Sufism and the festival carries forward that heritage in the gorgeous Ahhichatragarh Fort. The fort, built in early 12th Century, is a beautiful example of Rajput-Mughal architecture. And of course it is an unbeatable setting for the spiritual experience that Sufi festival offers. Besides Nagaur, visitors can also visit Jodhpur city and its architectural wonders including Mehrangarh Fort.
We meet you in Jodhpur, Rajasthan and bring you to the hotel. Later, we head out to explore the massive Mehrangarh Fort. Adjacent to the fort, is another monument, the Jaswant Thada, a royal cenotaph constructed entirely in white marble.
Day 3 & 4
After breakfast at the fort, we head to the festival which starts with music, poetry, dance, art, lectures and historical walks. There will also be tours of the town, museum, and bazaars.
