Sitges Carnival

Sitges carnival has everything that one needs to have all the fun. Sigtes lies about 40kms away from Barcelona, a beautiful little town that holds one of the best carnivals in Europe. If you have heard of Mainz and Cologne carnivals of Germany, this one won’t disappoint you. Every year, right before the lent, 45 days before Easter, a carnival takes place in Spain that you don’t want to miss. Sigtes carnival has been celebrated for over 100 years now. It marks the capital of lesbians and gays in Europe. And it absolutely amazes one to witness over 40 floats through the carnival. Furthermore, people of all age groups dress in colorful costumes. And the streets are fuller than it can ever be throughout the period of carnival. This week-long carnival contains all events needed to have a perfect week. This includes folk-dance, theater performances, live music and activities for the little ones.

Barcelona offers so many things that it’s hard to miss some of the most visited attractions in days you stay there. To begin with, one must visit Sagrada Familia, one of the most visited Basilica in Spain. This creation by Antoni Gaudi is an absolute treat to the eyes. If you are unsure about what to do next, simply take the hop on-hop off tour bus. You can touch all the important attractions and decide where you would like to spend more time. Also, if you are a football fan and in particular FC Barcelona, then it is recommended to book the tour of the stadium in advance. Finally, explore the other wonderful sights of Barcelona by walking around in the city center. For example, Barri Gotic area, neighborhoods of Picasso and Miro, Barcelona Cathedral, all can be reached by foot. Enjoy some wonderful days in this beautiful city!
